The head and neck group organises annual evidence based days and consensus days to identify and recommend best management policies on controversial topics in head and neck. Please find below more information on each year's academic offerings.

Evidence based day 2011
This meeting will explore the evidence base behind several of the supporting practices in the multi-disciplinary care of patients with head and neck cancer. These will cover issues such as psychological support, palliative care, physiotherapy, etc.

Consensus day 5th May 2011: Management of the Occult Primary

Consensus day 2010

Several thorny issues exist in the management of benign salivary gland disease for which no consensus exists. This meeting took place in Manchester to explore some of these management problems. Click here to view (pdf file: 8KB)

Evidence based day 2009

This international evidence based meeting on oropharyngeal cancer was jointly organised by ENTUK HN, British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists and the North of England Cancer Network. Attended by nearly 100 senior clinicians, the meeting has had excellent feedback (mean 6.2 out of 7 ).

Consensus Day 2009

This day followed the national survey performed under the aegis of ENTUK. This survey, click here to view
(pdf file: 70 KB) showed considerable variation in practice. To identify best practice, a consenus day was organised in Coventry, which was attended by otorhinolaryngologists and pathologists.

Consensus Day 2008

This day was organised to disseminate best practice in the endoscopic resection of early glottic cancer.
