BSFPS Essay Prize 2022
The BSFPS Essay Prize 2022 entitled ‘Post-Covid Training Challenges in Facial Plastic Surgery and Strategies to Address’ shone the light on the current post-COVID challenges in facial plastic surgery training and the potential strategies to address them. The prize winner was Mohit Achanta, a trainee in Charing Cross Hospital who also had the opportunity to present his work at the BSFPS Annual Meeting 2022.
National ENT Student Societies' (NENTSS) Conference 2021
On the 6th of February 2021, we hosted a BSFPS Juniors virtual workshop on 'Facial Plastic Surgery as a sub-specialty of ENT' at the National ENT Student Societies' (NENTSS) Conference 2021 that had 150 registered delegates from 14 different countries. The workshop was well received and raised awareness of the opportunities available within facial plastic surgery as a sub-specialty of ENT in the UK.
BSFPS FRCS(ORL-HNS) Viva Series
Between February to April 2021, we would have organized and hosted the BSFPS FRCS(ORL-HNS) Viva Series which is currently ongoing. This webinar series of 9 consecutive lectures and panel discussions focusing on the facial plastic surgery component of the FRCS(ORL-HNS) viva exam has been regularly well attended by 45-50 attendees weekly.
BSFPS Essay Prize 2021
The recent inaugural BSFPS Essay Prize entitled ‘Improving facial plastic surgery training in the UK: A 10-year plan’ generated a lot of interest and shone the spotlight on the current landscape of facial plastic surgery training in the UK. Multiple high-quality submissions were received across the country, and after a tight competition, Roshan Rupra a trainee currently in St. George’s University Hospitals was announced as the winner.
