Mohamed Shaker

I’m dedicated to improving the BSO and contribute to the momentum of change. As an ENT consultant with interest in Otology who has been trained in more than one large institute in the UK and overseas, I will bring fresh ideas and experience to the BSO. I will work with other stakeholders to make the BSO a renowned entity worldwide.

2. Bhav Patel

Bhav Patel

I have a track record of clinical and educational innovation, approaching training with a fresh perspective. On the BSO Council, I would focus on promoting the uptake of endoscopic and awake techniques, using my experience in surgical training and clinical initiatives to support trainees and strengthen the otology community.

3. Robert Grounds

Robert Grounds

I am passionate about education in Otology, both with local trainees and at a national level. My experience writing e-learning modules with the Royal College of Surgeons and BMJ and my Masters in Surgical Education have given me the skillset and understanding to contribute to developing educational programmes. My international fellowship experience gave me insight into other techniques and practices which I hope could augment the excellent care we already offer our patients in the UK.

4. Jaya Nichani

Jaya Nichani

A tertiary children’s hospital otologist, implant surgeon & researcher, I have unique experience in managing difficulties children face in accessing care for ear health & hearing, & transition to adult practise. I hope to bring this insight and contribute to finding solutions to these challenges. Other ENTUK roles, webinar lead and PESC co-lead

5. Nicholas Dawe

Based in Newcastle since 2019, I am fellowship-trained in otology and lateral skull base surgery. I bring the experience of developing a more regionally collaborative and patient-centred approach with enthusiasm to shape the valuable work of the society, working to support all members to achieve the best care for patients.
