Round tables

These consisted of case presentations from a moderator and panel discussions rather than a series of didactic presentations.

Topic symposia

These consisted of 3 or 4 speakers covering different aspects of the chosen topic.

Key topics

The aim of this session was to present 4 or 5 topics within the subspecialty as an update for those working outside the subspecialty or as general ENT, to present an overview of current management.

Advanced sessions

The aim of this session was to highlight key areas of research, innovations, novel treatments and to identify where future developments might occur, and was aimed more at those working within the subspecialty area.


Controversial topics to be presented as a debate, with an opportunity for rebuttal and an audience vote.

Instructional sessions

Some of these sessions were open to submission and selection; the majority were organised by specialist societies.
