We are delighted to invite you to attend this WENTS (Women in ENT Surgery) webinar, featuring two inspirational female leaders in surgery who will be discussing their leadership paths and the stances of the RCSEd and ENTUK on encouraging Women in surgical leadership. 

Helen Cocks, our new President of ENT UK

Helen Cocks is Clinical Director for H&N and a Consultant Head and Neck and Endocrine Surgeon at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Trust. She is heavily involved in education as an educational and clinical supervisor. She has been an SAC liaison member and curriculum lead during the introduction of the new curriculum. and she is an experienced intercollegiate examiner. She has published a number of papers and book chapters. She has been PI for a number of portfolio studies, currently PATHOS and LARCH. She successfully completed the Lady Estelle Wolfson Emerging Leaders Fellowship at the RCS Eng in 2017 and is the new President of ENTUK.

Clare McNaught, the first female Vice-President of RCSEd in its 517 year history. 

Clare McNaught is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon based in Harrogate. Her clinical interests include colorectal cancer, IBD and the impact of frailty on surgical outcomes. She has always been passionate about training and supporting the next generation of surgeons through her roles as educational supervisor, research mentor and MRCS examiner. In 2014, Clare founded the Younger Fellows' Committee to support surgeons in their transition from Registrar to Consultant practice. She is also the past Editor of Surgeons' News. Clare was elected to RCSEd Council in 2014 and was Honorary Secretary from 2020-2022. She was elected to the office of Vice President in 2022, the first woman to hold this role since 1505.
