The Event

The British Society of Otology is delighted to announce the 2025 Juniors Day and Annual Meeting together for the first time, held at The Great Hall and Elgar Concert Hall at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, B15 2TT.

The theme for the Juniors Meeting is Continuous improvement, and 'Striving for Excellence' for the Annual Meeting.

The event will showcase new and exciting developments in Otology. This is an excellent opportunity to listen to eminent national and international speakers such as Prof. Myrthe Hol from The Netherlands, Dr Claire Iseli from Australia and Prof. Alice Roberts from UK.

The BSO Juniors Day will be held on the morning of the 2nd of April until 13:00 hrs. This will be followed by the BSO Annual Meeting commencing with registration and luncheon, and will continue with a full day academic programme on 3rd of April 2025.


Registration

Delegate registrations are now closed.

BSO "Juniors Day only" tickets include entry on 2nd April 2025 from 08:00 - 13:00 hrs and doesnt include lunch.

All other delegate tickets include the tea/coffee/refreshments/ lunch on the 2nd and 3rd April 2025.

The Juniors Day Meeting is primarily intended for students and trainees, but delegates of other grades are welcome to attend as well. However, please keep in mind that the CPD points allocated for this part of the event will be granted only to students and trainees.

Please bear in mind that we do not accept on-site registrations for this meeting.

The registration fees include tea/coffee, refreshments and lunch only (on both days). 
Networking Evening Dinner tickets must be bought together with the event ticket. The dinner ticket cannot be bought later as a stand alone ticket therefore please ensure to tick the dinner ticket addon before you finalise your event ticket.

There is a fantastic networking opportunity to meet your colleagues at the dinner to be held at 19:30 hrs on 2nd April 2025 at Edgbaston Park Hotel, 53 Edgbaston Park Rd, Birmingham B15 2RS, United Kingdom. 
Networking Evening Dinner tickets must be bought together with the event ticket. The dinner ticket cannot be bought later as a stand alone ticket therefore please ensure to tick the dinner ticket addon before you finalise your event ticket.

Getting there

By Rail
Most cross-country services to Birmingham arrive at New Street Station. Up to six trains an hour depart for the University on the cross-city line (ten minutes to University station, final destination Longbridge or Redditch). The centre of the main campus is a five-minute walk from University Station.
 
By Bus
Numbers X61 and 63 travel from the Bus Mall, Moor Street Queensway, and from New Street Station, St Martin’s Queensway, to the Bristol Road, at the corner of Edgbaston Park Road. The services all run frequently from the city centre.
Online bus timetables for X61 and 63 are available on the National Express West Midlands website.
There is a travel information office outside New Street Station, where you can obtain bus timetables and departure point information. Maps can be found throughout the city centre indicating bus stop locations.
You can also access Network West Midlands' Live Travel Map for current rail and bus information.
 
By Coach
There are frequent express coach services to Birmingham from London, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, and many UK cities. The long-distance coach station is in Digbeth in the city centre.
Digbeth coach station is a short walk from New Street train station. Ask at the coach station for directions to New Street and then either catch the local train service to University station or catch the bus as described above. 
 
By Taxi
There are taxi ranks at New Street Station and throughout the city centre. The journey to the University takes about ten minutes.
 
By Car
Approaching from the north west or south east along the M6
Leave at Junction 6 (signposted Birmingham Central) to join the A38(M)
At the end of the motorway, keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through some underpasses to join the A38 Bristol Road
The University is on your right, two and a half miles from the city centre
 
Approaching from the M42 north:
Leave at Junction 8 to join the M6 northbound and follow the instructions above
Approaching from the south west:
Leave the M5 at Junction 4 signposted Birmingham SW) to join the A38
The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway
 
Approaching from the M40:
It is easier to turn south on the M42 and leave at Junction 1, heading north on the A38 Bristol Road
The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway
 
Visitor car parking
Visitor parking is available at North East Multi-storey Car Park (Pritchatts Road, B15 2SA). 
There are five floors in total, however, the ground floor is reserved for Edgbaston Park Hotel guests only. Should you wish to charge your electric car, there are two EV charging stations on the car park's roof level (charges apply). Please note that this car park does not have a lift. 
Parking charges apply Monday to Sunday, between 8am and 6pm. This includes bank holidays and University Closed Days. Parking after 6pm is free. Charges start from £3.40 and are capped at £10 (as of October 2024) Monday to Friday. If you park here at the weekend or on a bank holiday, you will be charged a flat day rate of £2.50. Payments can be made through RingGo (location 15677) or via the payment machines on floors one to five. 
If you require access to campus for business purposes, the department you're visiting may issue you with a daily visitor permit. Please get in touch with your main contact to arrange this.
Please be advised that enforcement procedures are in place at all University car parks and that penalty notices may be issued to drivers that fail to comply with University Traffic Regulations.
 
By Air
Birmingham International Airport has direct flights from locations in the UK, as well as from the USA, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.
The journey by taxi from the airport to the University takes approximately half an hour. Alternatively, Air-Rail Link provides a free, fast connection between the airport terminals and Birmingham International railway station. Air-Rail Link operates every two minutes (journey time 90 seconds). Birmingham International railway station has frequent services to New Street Station in the city centre (journey time around 15 minutes).
If you are arriving at London, there is a frequent train service from London Euston railway station to New Street Station (journey time around 1 hour 30 minutes).
From Heathrow Airport: Take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station and then the Underground or a taxi to Euston Station. Alternatively, an Airbus runs from Heathrow Airport direct to Euston Station
From Gatwick Airport: Take the Airport Express train to Victoria Station and then the Underground or a taxi to Euston Station
