HPV Action Update

ENT UK is a member of the HPV Action collaborative partnership of 51 patient and professional organisations that successfully advocated for HPV vaccination for both boys and girls. The latest news update is below.

As you may be aware, the UK government announced this summer that boys aged between 12 and 13 in England would be offered the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine to protect them from cancer. Implementation of this programme could be as early as 2019, but there has been no confirmation of this as yet.

HPV Action is still advocating for boys up to the age of 16 to be offered the vaccine at the same time as it is rolled out to younger boys.

HPV Action’s Northern Irish members are working hard to ensure that HPV vaccination follows the same timescale as the rest of the UK.
