Deadline approaching for ENT UK support with ACCIA applications

The 16 May application deadline for support is fast approaching for consultant and YCOHN members seeking an ENT UK citation to accompany their ACCIA applications.

Applying to ACCIA
The award scheme, renamed National Clinical Impact Awards (NCIA), is overseen by the Advisory Committee on Clinical Impact Awards (ACCIA). Full details are available on the GOV.UK website. Register for an account on the new ACCIA portal to download the application form. You will need to complete and submit it by 22 June by uploading it to the portal.

How to seek ENT UK support
ENT UK is a National Nominating Organisation (NNO), meaning that it will endorse, rank, and provide citations for nine applications from ENT consultants holding substantive NHS posts working in England and Wales.

Submit your application to us at accia@entuk.org by 16 May. ENT UK has a diverse Awards Committee which will score and rank applications. Outcomes will be notified by 13 June. Successful applicants will then have until 16 June to confirm that you accept endorsement from ENT UK (you may prefer to have endorsement from another NNO - you can only choose one). If all ENT UK places are not accepted, reserves will be offered endorsement on 17 June. Reserves have until 20 June to accept endorsement. ENT will upload all its endorsements in ranked order, with citations on 21 June.

ENT UK ACCIA advice
As last year, ENT UK will offer an advice service on how to optimise your application form. This comes from clinical and lay members who have many years’ experience of sitting on local, regional and national awards committees. Details of how to do this will be made available in mid-May.

ENT UK ACCIA webinar
ENT UK and WENTS UK will host a free, one-hour seminar on Thursday 12 May, from 7.30pm, exploring the recent changes to the awards. An expert panel will explore perspectives from recent successful applicants, discuss advice and tips for your ACCIA application, and lead a Q&A, enabling you to ask them your questions directly. You can register here.
