ENT UK is seeking a new Surgical Specialty Association (SSA) representative to the Surgical Specialty Boards (SSBs) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
The SSBs are constituted within the internal governance structure of the College and support, advise and assist the College and its Council on their core activities as they relate to specialty matters and developments. SSBs also play a critical role in facilitating reciprocal engagement and communication between the College and the surgical specialties across the UK.
The SSBs also undertake activity and duties, as agreed with and on behalf of the College, in the areas of:
- education
- examinations
- professional and clinical standards
- public policy and external engagement.
Each SSB has one representative of the relevant UK SSA as a non-voting member.
SSA representatives serve for a maximum of three years, and may or may not be Fellows of the College. The SSBs normally meet at least twice a year and SSA representatives can participate either in person (in Edinburgh or Birmingham) or remotely.
If you are interested in applying for the SSA representative role, please email us by Tuesday 28 February at entuk@entuk.org with your CV and a 250-word outline explaining what makes you a suitable candidate. Interviews are likely to take place in late January.
