New Evidence-Based Interventions (EBI) programme short videos

The evidence-based interventions programme is a joint enterprise between five national partners: The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, NHS Clinical Commissioners, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence as well as NHS England and Improvement. The aim of the programme is to ensure interventions routinely available on the NHS are evidence-based and appropriate to prevent avoidable harm to patients and to free up precious clinical time to use elsewhere.

The Evidence-Based Interventions (EBI) programme has developed guidance with its 5 national partners, CCGs, providers, patients, the public and the relevant Royal Colleges and specialist societies.

To support implementing this national guidance the NHS and key stakeholders have produced a series of short videos, explaining why the subjects tonsillectomy for recurrent tonsillitis, grommets for glue ear in children and snoring surgery in the absence of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) have been included in the EBI guidance. Please follow the links to view the videos and use them to support discussions with patients or direct patients to the videos for more information.

In addition to the videos, Jeremy Davis will be leading a clinical learning webinar session to discuss the guidance in more detail on Tuesday 21 January at 12:30 – 1:30pm, all are invited to join the discussion. Please register for this webinar by sending a request email to england.ebinterventions@nhs.net.
