Partnering with the British Laryngological Association (BLA) to promote the delivery of better Healthcare.
ENT UK has formed a strategic partnership with the British Laryngological Association (BLA), a membership society that aims to advance laryngology for the public’s benefit through research, education, and training. The partnership aims to work together for the benefit of Otorhinolaryngology surgeons and surgical trainees and to improve healthcare delivery.
The overall aim of the BLA is to advance the multidisciplinary development of laryngology worldwide, focusing on the management of airway, voice, and swallowing disorders, while addressing the needs of trainees and the public.
ENT UK and the BLA already enjoy a strong relationship. During the COVID-19 pandemic, both ENT UK and The BLA worked closely to create, contribute and offer guidelines in response to the pandemic, such as ‘A graduated return to elective activities for Laryngology’ and ‘Tracheostomy Recommendations during the COVID-19 Pandemic.’
Together, we will build on this relationship to develop surgical education, training, and research in otolaryngology further.
“The BLA are delighted to be partnered with ENT UK. Both organisations aim to promote best practice and to facilitate education, research and audit. By working together, we can reach more clinicians for the benefit of our patients” – Declan Costello, BLA President
The BLA also offers a number of events throughout the year, from its flagship conference, Cutting Edge Laryngology, to study days such as Imaging in Oropharyngeal Dysphagia and The Voice Clinic instructional course. You can also listen to the official podcast for the BLA, which has over 35 episodes covering all things laryngology.
