Liverpool Rhinology Fellowship

Location: Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Length of fellowship: 12 months

Description: This is a busy clinical fellowship aimed at candidates who have at least four years experience as a Specialist/ Specialty Registrar (or equivalent) and to have completed an approved training programme in Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. The fellowship requires the applicant to hold the MRCS(ENT) diploma (or equivalent) and have successfully passed the exit examination (e.g. FRCS(ORL-HNS) or equivalent) in their country of origin. This post is ideally suited to candidates who hold the U.K. Certificate of Completion of Training (or national equivalent).    It is intended that the successful candidate will become trained in all aspects of rhinology, extended endoscopic sinus surgery and rhinoplasty. The candidate will also gain exposure to anterior skull base surgery including trans-sphenoidal pituitary surgery. The successful candidate will have a central role in the preparation and presentation of patients at the regional skull base multi-disciplinary team meetings.    It is expected of the fellow to become involved with data collection, updating existing database and publish on clinical outcomes of the rhinology unit. There will be research and clinical audit opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in during their time in the unit, as well as collaborative research projects with the University of Liverpool and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. The fellow will participate as a member of faculty on a number of courses and meetings run by the rhinology team.
